2017 Medicare Taiwan & SenCARE Conclude as Southbound Policy Ushers In Business Opportunities
The 2017 Taiwan International Medical & Healthcare Exhibition (Medicare Taiwan) and Taiwan International Senior Lifestyle and Health Care Show (SenCARE) came to a successful conclusion today (June 18). Both exhibitions were held concurrently at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, having drawn more than 1,000 foreign buyers to attend the events. In addition, more than 50,000 visits during the four days of the shows.
In response to the government's policy, TAITRA invited important buyers from ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia to come to Taiwan for procurement. A total of 48 trade meetings were facilitated, to help Taiwanese companies in the medical industry expand their reach to emerging southbound markets.
Doctor's Friend Medical Instrument Co. Ltd., one of exhibitors in MEDICRE, has expressed satisfaction with the results of their participation in these exhibitions. The medical industry in Southeast Asian countries is developing rapidly. Taiwan has a sizable advantage in this regard, thanks to its geographic location and shorter delivery periods. This year, there has been a significant increase in the number of buyers and inquiries from Southeast Asian countries compared with previous years.
For the first time, Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA) organized 6 companies from Singapore to take part in these exhibitions. They indicated that Taiwan, which has an advantage in quality in terms of raw materials and the manufacturing of parts and components, can form a complete supply chain with Singapore and its secondary processing and export of finished products. Therefore, it expects to develop deeper partnerships with Taiwan in the future.
With the trend of aging populations, people are paying more attention to the health and living needs of seniors. Third Age Healthcare Technology Company, Ten Life Smart Care and Compal Electronics, Inc. jointly showcased exercise and rehabilitation devices developed with smart IoT technology, which can monitor and record the body's exercise data while helping users decide if their rehabilitative postures are correct. The on-site activities were met with an enthusiastic response from visitors.
The joint exhibition of Medicare Taiwan and SenCARE represents a comprehensive procurement platform that integrates hospital treatment and home care resources.
Next year, these two exhibitions are slated to be held between June 21 and 24 at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, and registration will open in October, 2017. Visit the official websites to learn more information.
